ALLIANCE, Neb. – The Torrington Sharks swim team hauled in 13 first-place finishes and reached the podium 26 times at the Alliance Swim Meet on Saturday.
Timothy Randolph had a huge day in the pool, racking up four first-place finishes. He took first in the 50-meter breaststroke (41.57 seconds) and 50-meter freestyle (37.77 seconds). He also proved himself in the longer distances, earning the crown in the 100-meter freestyle (1:20.33) and 100-meter IM (1:35.08).
Abby Dykes also picked up multiple top spots, winning both the 25-meter backstroke and 25-meter freestyle. Teryn Stokes snagged wins in the 50-meter freestyle and 25-meter backstroke. Griffin was the final Shark to win two events, taking the gold in the 25- and 50-meter freestyles. Tyne Stokes, Kristina Hall and Daniel Casper each had one win on the day.
Torrington had 31 swimmers compete in Alliance on Saturday. They combined for 90 total entries and 12 relays.
The Sharks return to the pool Saturday for a meet in Hemingford, Neb.
