TORRINGTON – Members of Torrington Boy Scout Troup No. 26 presented the annual Flag Day observance last week for the Torrington Elks Lodge weekly hamburger feed.
A Troop No. 26 color guard presented the flags and led the Lodge No. 1726 members in the singing of the National Anthem. The scouts then brought in eight, historic U.S. Flags while Scoutmaster Howard Sinclair outlined the history of each banner.
Patriotism, duty and service to community are principles respected and upheld by members of both the Boy Scouts and the Elks organizations, officials from both groups said in a press release.
Scouts and leaders who participated in the Flag Day observance were: David Eaton, Brian Fenn, Connor Mickle, James Mickle, Chandler Sinclair, Owen Wise, Travis DeWitt, Adrian Eaton and Howard Sinclair.
