LINGLE – Ron, 75, left this earth to join his Savior Jesus Christ on Nov. 16, 2020.   A celebration of life for Ronald Dwaine Fuss will be held on Saturday Nov. 21 at 10 a.m. at the First Congregational Church in Torrington with a burial in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Lingle following services.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Colyer Funeral Home and friends may send their condolences to the family at www.colyerfuneralhome.com.

Born Aug. 18, 1945, in Torrington, Ron was the youngest of three children born to John and Martha (Schauerman) Fuss.  He grew up on the family farm graduating from Lingle High School in1963.  Ron later married Margie DeBrot, and with this union they became a family sharing three children, Toni, Jason, and Joel. After many years of working on the farm, Ron later worked at St. Joseph’s Children’s home, a place where both the children and staff remained close to his heart.

Ron’s days on the farm with his family, along with his children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. He was always sure to share his own memories of playing football and basketball. Ron enjoyed going to Dutch-hops, coffee with his buddies, German food, and anything John Deere. Gardening and yard work later in life became his favorite hobbies, and he proudly told others his was the second greenest lawn in town, next to his son Joel’s lawn.

Ron would often say on the windiest of days, “be quiet, listen; God’s trying to tell you something.” Ron’s final days on this earth as he battled COVID were some of the windiest Goshen County has seen. His final wishes were for his friends and family to know how much they were loved, and for everyone to remember, “do not take your health for granted, and please think about the health of others too, especially now more than ever.”

Ron is survived by his daughter Toni (Ferdinand) Mark, of Cheyenne and their sons Ethan, Cade, Isaiah, and Aaron; son Jason (Tracie) Fuss of Green River and their children Chantel (Danny) Jacaway, Jachob and Abigail Joelle Fuss; son Joel (Tiphanie) Fuss of Torrington and their son Noah; his great granddaughter Huntley Jacaway; brother Roger Fuss of Cheyenne; and numerous cousins and friends who were thought of as family.

Ron was preceded in death by his Father John Fuss, Mother Martha (Schauerman-Fuss) Heckman, and sister Shirley (Fuss) Gay.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer that you please consider memorial contributions made in his honor to St. Joseph’s Children’s home of Torrington.

Ron and his family would like to especially thank Dr. Ronald Firth and staff, the constant care and commitment was extraordinary. Thank you to the staff at the Goshen Care Center.
