BASIN – Roger O.  Courtney, 83, of Torrington, passed away Aug. 1, 2019, at the Wyoming Retirement Center in Basin following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Memorial Services will be 11 a.m. Oct. 11, 2019, at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Torrington, with the Rev. Fr. Raymond Moss officiating. A private interment will take place following the services at Valley View Cemetery in Torrington.

Roger was born April 21, 1936, in Torrington to Forrest and Lela (Storm) Courtney. He was raised on the family homestead near Veteran. He graduated from Torrington High School in 1954. He married Esther Hansen and together they raised four children. He operated insurance and accounting businesses most of his life in Torrington.

He is survived by four sons Mike, Matt, Shawn and James, a daughter Debbie, 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Esther, infant son Raymond E., infant twin daughters, Mary M. and Elizabeth A., his parents Forrest and Lela, brother Daniel Courtney and sister Beverly O’Hara.
