Richard was born Nov. 24, 1928. He was the youngest of seven children. After his mother’s death, he was raised by his oldest sister and brother-in-law, Jenny and Ivan VanBuskirk. He met and married the love of his life, LaVaughn Rich shortly before shipping out to the Korean War. Upon returning home he went to work for the railroad. After retirement from the railroad, he and LaVaughn traveled and then settled in Alaska. They returned to Wyoming to care for his sister, Jennie until her passing. Later, after LaVaughn’s passing, he moved to Lewistown, Montana. Richard remained in Lewistown until his passing on July 2, 2022.

LaVaughn A. (Rich) Harvey was born Dec. 8, 1926. She was one of nine children. She was born in Nebraska and then the family moved to Riverton. Then on to the homestead in Hiland. LaVaughn moved to Casper, where she worked as a “Rosie the Riveter.” Also, at this time, she met the love of her life, Richard Harvey. They moved to Douglas, and he went to fight in the Korean War. While she waited for him, she worked as a telephone operator. Upon his return from the war, they started their lives together as Richard worked on the railroad. After retirement they enjoyed life together traveling the USA until her passing on Feb. 25, 2015.

They are survived by LaVaughn’s siblings, Marilyn Bramson, Roland Rich and Gary Rich; and numerous nieces and nephews who became their children.
