TORRINGTON – Ralph “Gene” Eugene Myers, 83, died Sunday, October 21, 2018 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, Neb.

Memorial services will be held at a later date and cremation has taken place.

A savings account has been set up at Pinnacle Bank in wife Joyce and son Larry’s name. Memorials can be made there.

Arrangements for the cremation have been made by the Colyer Funeral Home.

Gene was born April 19, 1935 in Scottsbluff, the son of Ralph Henry and Anna Irene (Wisdom) Myers. He joined the Army in 1957 where he served his country until December 1963. In May 1974, he married Emily Joyce Heil. The couple had four children, three from his first marriage to Freda Myers. 

Gene spent most of his life working in the ranching industry. He loved working and providing for his family. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, rodeo, sports, woodworking and wood burning. After a medical retirement due to a shoulder injury, he continued to work hard. Joyce and Gene worked together taking care of lawns for people up until his passing.

He was a member of the NRA, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, North American Hunting and Fishing Club, Handyman Club and American Legion.

Survivors include his wife Joyce of Torrington; daughter Sharry Woodworth of Lake City, Utah; son Gene (Sheri) Myers of Splendora, Texas; daughter Wanda (Brian) Street of Casper; son Larry Myers of Torrington; brother Robert Myers of Sarajevo; sister Shirley Litz of Casper; four grandsons: Travis, Jack, Anthony and Cody; Three granddaughters: Charise, Vick and Sarah; and three great-grandchildren: Nick, Jason and Lexy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Violet Ray Myers; granddaughter Emily and great-grandson Christopher.
