Full Time Chief of Police

Applicant must be a self-motivated and dedicated individual who will have the primary responsibility to oversee the police department. The Chief shall enforce all laws of the State of Wyoming and Town of Fort Laramie Code of Ordinances, supervise and coordinate activities of subordinate officers and perform related duties as required; and oversee the day-to-day activities to include all administrative functions of a law enforcement agency.

Minimum of 5 years law enforcement experience. Previous supervisory experience preferred. Candidate must be professional, people oriented, flexible, attention to detail, good communication skills, and have a passion for the law to which include integrity, honesty, and ability to be stern. Out of state certified applicants will be required to obtain Wyoming Certification through the Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy. Applicant must reside within 30 minutes of the Town of Fort Laramie.  Applicant must possess a valid vehicle operator’s license and firearms certification and meet all the qualifications required by the State of Wyoming Police Standards and Training. Applicant must pass a physical examination and drug testing.
