Public Health to hold flu clinics

GOSHEN COUNTY – Goshen County Public health will hold quadrivalent vaccine flu clinics on Sept. 26-30. A quadrivalent vaccine is “a vaccine that works by stimulating an immune response against four different antigens, such as four different viruses or other microorganisms” – (cancer.gov).

These clinics are for those aged 18 and older. Children’s vaccines will be available at Goshen County Public Health beginning Oct. 5 by appointment. Adult walk-in clinics at the office, 2025 Campbell Drive, Suite No. 1, Torrington, will begin Oct. 3 from 8-10 a.m. Mondays and Thursdays while supplies last. 

Goshen County Public Health advises, “flu vaccine(s) may prevent influenza or reduce your risk of complications related to influenza.”

Monday, Sept. 26

• LaGrange Community Building 10-11:30 a.m.

• Yoder Senior Center 1-2:30 p.m.

Tuesday, Sept. 27:

• Lingle Community Center 9-11 a.m.

• Fort Laramie Senior Center 12:30-1:30 p.m.

Wednesday, Sept. 28:

• Bell Park Towers 9 a.m.

• Evergreen Court 10:30 a.m.

• Golden Manor 1:30 p.m.

Thursday, Sept. 29

• Pony Express Room Lincoln Center 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Friday, Sept. 29

• Pony Express Room Lincoln Center 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Lincoln Center is located at 436 East 22nd Avenue in Torrington.

The cost of the vaccine is $40, which is payable at the time of service. Cash or check will be accepted for payment. Goshen County Public Health will bill Medicare, Aetna, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Cigna, United Healthcare, Railroad Medicare or Medicaid. Those wishing to bill insurance are asked to bring their Medicare or insurance cards.

Face masks and social distancing will be required.
