Jan. 14

8:55 a.m. – Welfare check, Police Department, Torrington – Person requesting a welfare check on a daycare in Torrington; Advised the place is filthy and they have birds in cages where food is being prepared for children. Referred to DFS for follow-up.

8:58 a.m. – Assist the public, Police Department, Torrington – Caller advised they’re receiving harassing telephone calls from a woman; Caller said he’s asked her to stop calling and would like to speak to an officer about it.

3:12 p.m. – Assist the public, East 6th Avenue, Torrington – Caller requested to speak to an officer referencing other people throwing trash in their trash can; The caller said they had dug out receipts, so they had the names of the people using her trash bin. 

3:44 p.m. – Suspicious circumstances, East Valley Road, Torrington – Caller at the store reported a customer advised there was a bag of something, possibly marijuana, in the parking lot; Reportedly found a “bag of weed” in the parking lot.

8:23 p.m. – Suspicious circumstances, East 19th Street, Torrington – Reports of people “going in and out” at an adjacent apartment; Caller said they think it’s a drug deal. Upon contact with residents, officers were allowed inside and found no evidence of drugs or drug use.

9:48 p.m. – Assist the public, East K Street, Torrington – Caller reported neighbors to the south are playing “ridiculously loud music” and caller is trying to sleep.

Jan. 15

2:28 a.m. – Assist the public, Police Department, Torrington – Caller requesting to speak to an officer referencing issue with his neighbor; Caller said his neighbor’s fireplace is “smoking him out.”

4:08 p.m. – Assist the public, West C Street, Torrington – Caller said they’d paid their rent in full for the month, then received a notice to vacate; Requested contact and information regarding vacate laws.

8:20 p.m. – Medical aid, Police Department, Torrington – Caller advised their brother is sick but didn’t want to go to the hospital; Advised the brother was in Rio Grande City, Texas; Dispatcher advised the caller they’d reached Torrington; Caller said, “Okay,” and disconnected.

10:30 p.m. – Suspicious vehicle, Pioneer Park, Torrington – Officer initiated; Officer advised individuals of park hours and told them there was a better place to do whatever they were doing.

Jan. 16

7:54 a.m. – Assist the public, Police Department, Torrington – Female caller said she’d heard from someone she was being investigated; Requested to know what was going on.

9:13 a.m. – Suspicious vehicle, West 25th Avenue, Torrington – Report of a vehicle parked across the street; Female occupant had stopped to make a telephone call.

11 a.m. – Animal Call, West C Street, Torrington – Report of a stray chicken.

12:57 p.m. – Suspicious circumstances, Goshen Co. Sheriff’s Office, Torrington – Identify theft.

1:38 p.m. – Disturbance, Sage Apartments, Torrington – Caller reported neighbors fighting all morning; Female resident “suddenly … was quiet” and the caller was concerned.

2:55 p.m. – Assist the public, Torrington – Scam call for credit cards.

4:53 p.m. – Assist the public, Police Department, Torrington – Caller said they wanted officer to know that dark cars without headlights on are difficult to see; Caller was advised the information would be passed on.

5:44 p.m. – Assist the public, Hope Road, Torrington – Request for extra patrol after a vehicle reportedly pulled up on the wrong side of the road with several occupants and just sat there.

Jan. 17

9:02 a.m. – Hazard, Traffic – Road 45N, Torrington – Report of “greasy red substance” on the road, near the curve by the landfill.

11:18 a.m. – Suspicious circumstances, Albany Avenue, Torrington – Caller said they are at work and receiving numerous calls referencing the IRS; Caller advised it was likely a scam and not to provide any personal information.

1:11 p.m. – Disturbance, East Valley Road, Torrington – Caller reported a male subject became unruly, screaming and yelling, when asked to remove his dog.

2:24 p.m. – Prowler, Rocky Road, Torrington – Caller reported someone walking around the house, said their mother saw it on their cell phone; Individual was a worker and was supposed to be there.

3:59 p.m. – Assist the public, East K Street, Torrington – Caller reported an individual, driving by their kid’s school; Caller was concerned, said the individual was unstable and pointed a finger as if it were a gun.

Jan. 18

12:19 a.m. – Disturbance, East A Street, Torrington – Caller made a noise complaint on their neighbor, requested officer make contact to hear the noise from inside the residence; Officer reportedly could not hear the noise, though the caller said she was hearing it while the officer was in the room.

12:47 p.m. – Suspicious circumstances, Road 48, Torrington – Reported scam caller stated they were with the local police department and reporting person had outstanding warrants; Did not request to speak to an officer, just wanted to report it.

3:57 p.m. – Harassment, Road 41, Torrington – Caller reported he’d been harassed by a couple of individuals who said they were driving to his house at the time of the call.

5:29 p.m. – Suspicious vehicle, Laramie Street, Torrington – Caller reported a grey vehicle with Nebraska plates repeatedly blocking the alley; Owner contacted, vehicle has been moved and owner warned of parking violation and not to let it continue.

10:18 p.m. – Assist the public, Lupine Drive, Torrington – Caller requested an officer to speak to the caller and their daughter regarding the daughter’s behavior; Reportedly there’d been property destruction at the resident and the caller said they were done dealing with it.

Jan. 19

12:29 p.m. – Suspicious circumstances, West C Street, Torrington – Report of a group of kids walking west being disruptive and destructive; Kids were contacted and warned about their behavior in public.

5:43 p.m. – Suspicious circumstances, Police Department, Torrington – Individual in the police department lobby concerned about someone hacking and using their debit card.

6:24 p.m. – Suspicious vehicle, Campbell Drive, Torrington – Caller reported two vehicles parked in the parking lot of Community Hospital, one in front of the emergency room on the street side, appeared to be watching someone at the hospital; Also, reported a second car in the area and the two cars appeared to be working together.

Jan. 20

12:33 a.m. – Suspicious circumstances, Main Street, Torrington – Male caller said he thought he saw someone moving inside the restaurant and wasn’t sure if someone was breaking in, then disconnected the call; Officers contacted and learned it was the owner and some of their friends having a private party.

9:32 a.m. – Assist the public, Police Department, Torrington – Individual in lobby requesting to speak to an officer referencing a gun which had been seized.

2:21 p.m. – Suspicious circumstances, East D Street, Torrington – Caller reported they were walking on East D Street when a silver Toyota sped up as if it was going to hit them, then went around the block and did it again; Caller hung up, officers attempted to locate without success.

8:16 p.m. – Assist the public, East Valley Road, Torrington – Anonymous caller said a man and a couple were getting intoxicated and getting “amped up;” requested officer assistance to get them removed, said the male is arguing with the wait staff and other people.

8:49 p.m. – Disturbance, U.S. Hwy. 26/85, Torrington – Report of a drunk individual causing issues with guests; Not a guest at the hotel.

10:17 p.m. – Suspicious circumstances, Main Street, Torrington – Report of juveniles walking around, looking into the windows of businesses; Callers children saw them about 5 p.m. pushing the handicap door button at Pinnacle Bank, reported across the street from the Mint Bar shortly after 10 p.m. Gone on arrival, officers checked area and were unable to locate.
