May 4
8:56 a.m. – Suspicious circumstances, East M Street, Torrington – An officer reported a student came up to them and reported another student had drugs in their backpack.
11:56 a.m. – Suspicious circumstances, West C Street, Torrington – Caller requested to speak with an officer; said someone was holding videos for ransom – Call was made to 9-1-1 and caller advised incident was not a life-or-death situation and to call the non-emergency number. Caller never called back and did not leave a name or contact information.
3:46 p.m. – Suspicious circumstances, East B Street, Torrington – Caller reported accepting a friend request on social media which resulted in a telephone scam.
5:21 p.m. – Animal Call, East 17th Avenue, Torrington – Caller reported going to a residence; no one had been home for some time but caller reported hearing a cat meowing inside.
11:17 p.m. – Assist the public, East 22nd Avenue, Torrington – Caller advised she’s being threatened by people in Torrington, requested an officer call back.
May 5
10:11 a.m. – East 22nd Avenue, Torrington – Caller said her mother received a large check in the mail; when sender contacted, declined to provide information. Caller said she fears it’s a scam and asked to talk to an officer.
3:15 p.m. – Disturbance, West B Street, Torrington – Report of a man and woman fighting over property; no children or alcohol present; the woman said she’d wait outside for law enforcement arrival.
3:16 p.m. – Harassment, Main Street, Torrington – Caller reported a subject keeping tabs on her staff and recording what they are doing; reporting person requested a call when someone was available and would come in to talk to an officer.
8:26 p.m. – Assist the public, Golf Course Road, Torrington – Caller requested extra patrol after noticing a white pickup with two male subjects “trolling” around the area.
May 6
4:31 a.m. – Suspicious vehicle, Main Street, Torrington – Caller reported a car in a parking lot with the lights on and running for the previous three hours.
12:22 p.m. – Suspicious circumstances, East F Street, Torrington – Caller reported she’s moving out of her former apartment; went to pickup some of her property and her bed was missing.
8:15 p.m. – Suspicious person, Platte Street, Torrington – Caller reported two children were knocking on doors and running away; suspects last seen headed towards Campbell Street, one wearing a hoodie with orange shorts.
May 7
10:14 a.m. – Suspicious circumstances, Albany Avenue, Torrington – Caller said her friend was stabbed by her friends boyfriend.
11:22 a.m. – Suspicious Circumstances, Overpass Hwy. 26/85, Torrington – Caller reported children hanging their feet off the overpass.
May 8
10:06 a.m. – Abandoned vehicle, East 22nd Avenue, Torrington – Report of a silver Toyota parked at the park since the previous day; caller was concerned the owner may have wandered off into the trees.
1:30 p.m. – Filthy premises, Lupine Drive, Torrington – Referencing a complaint to city hall about residents placing fireplace or fire pit ashes in the alley and the ashes blowing around.
2:48 p.m. – Assist the public, East E Street, Torrington – Caller reported harassing telephone calls from someone claiming to work for the IRS.
4:55 p.m. – Suspicious person, West Valley Road and West C Street, Torrington – Report of a subject at the intersection attempting to collect money for fuel.
7:48 p.m. – Suspicious circumstances, West C Street, Torrington – Caller reported finding a dead snake on a student’s vehicle.
May 9
12:40 p.m. – Assist the public, Road 37J, Torrington – Caller reported their neighbor has an emu in their yard; caller wanted to make sure the emu was where it belonged.
2:31 p.m. – Disturbance, Albany Avenue, Torrington – Caller advised she was not being allowed into her home.
4:47 p.m. – Assist the public, Haines Street, Torrington – Reporting person said their daughter was receiving texts from another girl she was advised by officers to have no contact with; requested an officer to contact the other party and have her stop trying to make contact.
7:34 p.m. – Suspicious circumstances, East C Street, Torrington – Caller reported a friends wife and her boyfriend were using drugs when her husband is gone.
May 10
2:21 a.m. – Assault, East E Street, Torrington – Caller requested to speak with an officer referencing their daughter being assaulted.
2:20 p.m. – Assist the public, East 22nd Avenue, Torrington – Caller reported she met a man online and has concerns he wants her to do things that might not be legal.
