TORRINGTON – The Wyoming Shakespeare Festival Company is celebrating its 20th anniversary with performances throughout Wyoming, including Torrington’s own Pioneer Park. This year’s play is Twelfth Night, one of Shakespeare’s most beloved and timeless comedies. A brief synopsis of the play will be provided to help you follow the action and the play will begin at 6 p.m. om Saturday, July 13.
Torrington is one of only seven communities throughout Wyoming on this year’s tour. You are invited and encouraged to enjoy this experience of Shakespeare “in the round.”
The Company was founded by actress Diane Springford when she discovered Lander, Wyo. On a road trip across America. Relocating to Wyoming, she organized and led the Lander-based school and the traveling performances for 20 years. She is the recipient of the Governor’s Fine Arts Award in recognition of the school’s contribution to Wyoming.
The performances are outdoors and they go on, rain or shine, so you are encouraged to bring a comfortable folding chair and weather-appropriate clothing.
