TORRINGTON – Funeral services for Mildred E. Larsen Cosner Racki Bayless, 87, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Vickie Kintzel officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Cheyenne at 2:30 p.m.
Millie died May 2, 2017 at Goshen Healthcare Community in Torrington. Memorials may be given to Disabled American Veterans. Visitation will be Monday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home and the casket will be open briefly following the service. Millie was born Dec. 4, 1929, in Torrington, the daughter of Clarence and Lola (Nay) Larsen. She grew up and attended school in Veteran, graduating high school there in 1947.
She attended the University of Wyoming for a while and then married Junior Dean Clarence Cosner in 1949. They divorced in 1974 and she lived in Cheyenne. She married Karl Racki in January 1975. He died June 2, 1999, and she continued to live in Cheyenne.
Millie met Max Bayless at a high school reunion and they married in 2001. They lived in Cheyenne for two years and then moved to Lingle in 2003. Max died in June 2009.
She worked as a secretary for the Laramie Superintendent of Schools, the Federal Land Bank in Worland, the state Health Department in Cheyenne, the Recreational Department in Cheyenne, Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, the IRS for six years, and the U.S. Postal Service for five years. She retired in 1987.
Millie was a member of the Lingle Community Presbyterian Church, the Wyoming Art Association, and the Cheyenne Art Guild. She enjoyed fishing, doing crafts, painting, gardening, traveling and
photography.
Millie is survived by her daughter Susan Kuhn of Pueblo, Colo.; stepdaughters Cindy Jackson and Kriss Shearer both of Pittsburgh, Penn., Constance Hirschmugl of Novato, Calif., Lois Armstrong of Eaton, Colo. and Dorothy Judd of Torrington; stepsons Robert Bayless of Glouchester, Va., Richard Bayless and Terry Bayless of Torrington, Dennis Bayless of Colorado and Edgar Bayless of Caldwell, Idaho; a sister-in-law Mildred Larsen of Wheatland; 22 step grandchildren; and 13 step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two spouses Karl Racki and Max Bayless; and two brothers
