TORRINGTON – Funeral services for Max D. Schwartzkopf, 60, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 25, 2017, at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev Rick Cederholm officiating.
Max died at his home on May 20, 2017, and cremation will take place following services. Memorials may be given to the Torrington Little League program. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3 to 5 p.m. and the casket will be open briefly following the service. Max was born July 20, 1956, in Torrington, the son of Edward and Joan (Krug) Schwartzkopf. He grew up and received his education in Torrington, graduating high school there in 1975. He worked construction for Jerry Schutt for a while before starting work at Holly Sugar where he became a dryer operator. He went back to construction and worked in the Goshen County area until he became disabled.
Max enjoyed all sports and was a member of the 1968 Torrington Little League All-Star Team.
Max is survived by his wife Alma of Torrington; daughter Amy Jo Schwartzkopf of Hawk Springs; brothers Kirk Reinhardt of Nashua, N.H., Kelly Reinhardt of Port Richey, Fla. and Matty Schwarzkopf of Torrington; grandchildren Alex Wright, Katelynn Wright and Sophia Domina; and numerous nieces and nephews of his own and from his marriage to Alma. He was preceded in death by his parents.
