TORRINGTON – Memorial services for Mary Louise Essert, 87, were held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 22, 2023 at the Colyer Funeral Home with Pastor Nate Johnson officiating. Louise died May 16, 2023 at Goshen Healthcare Community and cremation has taken place. Memorials may be given to Christ Reformed Presbyterian Church. Louise was born March 31, 1936 in Kimball, Nebraska the daughter of Alva and Marie (McDonald) Harris. She grew up and received her education in Torrington and Yoder, graduating Yoder High School in 1953. She married William M. Essert on June 4, 1952 and they later divorced. She worked at the Veteran School, Goshen Hole High School and the Goshen County School District as the secretary for the Superintendent of Schools.
Louise enjoyed being with family and friends, watching the Colorado Rockies baseball and animals.
Louise is survived by her sons Bradley (Patty) Essert, and Greg (Holly) Essert; daughter Kim (Joel) Cawthra; a brother Rodney Harris; a sister Nancy (Kenny) Blevins; nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and one great-great grandson. She was preceded in death by her grandparents; her parents; brother Duane; sister Janice; sister-in-law Shirley Harris; three nieces; two nephews; and one great nephew.
