TORRINGTON – Funeral Mass of Christian Burial for Marlyce J. Charron, 88, will be held at 10am Friday, August 31, 2018 at St Rose Catholic Church with Bishop Joseph Charron officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery. 

Marlyce died Aug. 26, 2018, at her daughter’s home in Cypress, Texas. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. at Colyer Funeral Home on Thursday, followed by a rosary at 6 p.m. at the church. Arrangements are by the Colyer Funeral Home and condolences may be sent to www.colyerfuneralhome.com. 

Marlyce was born Sept. 27, 1929, in Hand County, S.D., the daughter of Virgil and Gladys (Watkins) Sisson. She grew up and received her education in Redfield, S.D., graduating high school there in 1949. She worked briefly for the First National Bank in Redfield. 

She married James Charron on Feb. 13, 1950, and they lived in Tacoma, Wash., for three years. They moved to Seneca, S.D., in 1954 and she raised her children. In 1960 they moved to Casper and then in 1969 to Huron, S.D. They returned to Casper in 1972. They moved to Denver, Colo., in 1976, where she worked as a medical secretary. In 1990 they moved to Redfield to take care of her mother and in 1997 they moved to Torrington. James died in 2008.

Marlyce was a member of St Rose Catholic Church and CCW.

Marlyce is survived by her sons Nevada, Joe (Donna) Charron of Torrington, and Jeff (Cindy) Charron of Casper,; daughters Pamela (Tim) Lewis of Cypress, and Paula LeBlanc of Centennial, Colo.; sisters Marilyn Schmidt of Redfield, , Donna Bushong of Tulare, S.D., Virgie Hanson of Northglenn, Colo., Sharyl Prince and Jerrilyn Brunette of Spearfish, S.D.; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband James; a son James G. Charron; and three sisters: Arland Galliger, Floreine Anderson and Cloris Wright.
