‘Make It With Wool’ deadline approaches

Posted

TORRINGTON – The entry deadline is Oct. 15 for the Make It With Wool contest, making its return this year to Goshen County.
Open to entrants of all ages and sewing abilities, MIWW is a national contest designed to promote the “beauty and versatility of wool fabrics and yarn,” according to the national Make It With Wool contest website. Competitors use either 100 percent wool or a minimum 60 percent wool blend to construct a garment showing creativity in design and use of the material.
Entrants in the Pre-teen, Junior, Senior and Adult divisions must select, construct and model their own garments. Contestants in the “Made for Others” category have their recipient model the garment.
Entry forms are available in the foyer of Goshen County Library, Covered Wagon Quilt Shop, Goshen County Extension Office and from Jodee Garrelts, District 8 director. For more information about creating and modeling a wool garment contact Garrelts at (307) 532-4253.0915
