TORRINGTON – Mass of Christian Burial for Lupe M. Dominguez, 78, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 4, 2022 at Saint Rose Catholic Church with Father Ray Moss officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery. Lupe died at her home on Nov. 1, 2022. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday at 6 p.m. at the church.

Visitation was held Thursday from 3-5 p.m. at the funeral home and the casket will be open at the rosary. Memorials may be given to the family. Arrangements are by the Colyer Funeral Home and condolences may be sent to www.colyerfuneralhome.com. 

Lupe was born Dec. 12, 1943 in Torrington, the daughter of Nicolas and Mary (Alvarez) Melchor. She grew up and attended school in Torrington graduating high from Torrington High School. She married Esteban Dominguez and their raised their family in Torrington. She later went to work for Banner Hospital in the laundry department. 

Lupe enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking, shopping, gambling at casinos and spending time with her grandchildren. She had and ran a concession stand at fairs and other events. She was a member of the Guadalupe Society. 

Lupe is survived by her son Esteban (Amanda) Dominguez of Torrington; daughters Beatrice (Luis) Romero of Kansas City, Kansas, Rachel (Leonel) Vazquez of Thornton, Colorado, Yolanda (Miguel) Varela of Torrington, Rosemary (Fabio Garcia) Dominguez of Aurora, Colorado and Andrea (Salvador) Ortiz of Aurora; a sister Emily Castro of Torrington; two brothers Manuel Melchor of Thornton and Felix Melchor of Torrington; nine grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Esteban; and a son Jose Dominguez.
