Locals win events at Rock Springs rodeo

ROCK SPRINGS - The Wyoming High School Rodeo Association headed to Rock Springs last weekend for rodeos on Saturday and Sunday and locals came away with some top finishes.

On Saturday, Haiden Thompson won goat tying in 6.56 seconds, while the Kyler Clark and his team roping partner Colter Nunn, of Laramie, won in 7.18 seconds on Sunday.

No other Goshen County competitor finished in the top five on Saturday, but Sunday’s results were much better for the area rodeo stars.

Thompson finished third in goat tying and fourth in pole bending, while Clara Petersen finished fifth in barrel racing.

The WHSRA heads to Big Piney for a pair of rodeos on April 24-25.
