Local trio named to 2021 Shrine Bowl roster

TORRINGTON – Three members of the Torrington and Southeast high school football teams were named to the 2021 Shrine Bowl South’s team roster.

Torrington lineman Dylan Dreiling, linebacker/running back Cody Pierce and Southeast linebacker/offensive lineman Harrison Hall will all take part in the summer’s all-star football game for graduating seniors.

All three players were major contributors in their respective team’s run to the state championship games.

Dreiling helped clear the way for the Blazers, who racked up 281.7 yards of offense per game and limited opposing teams to 227.9 yards of offense per game. On the defensive side of the ball, Dreiling averaged 8.2 tackles per game and had three sacks, four tackles for loss and three fumble recoveries.

Meanwhile, Pierce was second in Class 2A with 23.3 defensive points per game. He tallied a state leading 144 tackles, including 13 for a loss. On the offensive side of the ball, Pierce ran for 421 yards and three touchdowns. He also hauled in seven catches for 72 yards.

Hall joins the Blazer duo from the Class 1A 9-Man Division.

On the line, Hall helped Southeast offense put up 381.6 yards per game – third best in the state – including 291.5 yards of rushing per game. On the other side of the ball, Hall averaged 7.1 stops per game and tallied eight tackles for loss on the season.

The trio will be coached by Mountain View’s Brent Walk. Assistants for the South’s squad includes, Paul Garcia of Cheyenne East, Wes Gamble of Douglas, Michael Collins of Mountain View, Logan Wright of Saratoga and Jack Cobb of Snake River.

The game is scheduled for Saturday, June 12 at Chaney Alumni Field in Casper.
