Blazer Tristan DeMott took silver in pole vault, clearing 11-6. Torrington’s Brice Krick finished sixth in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 9.45. Southeast’s Porter Ross finished 10th in the long jump with an 18-0.75 effort.
Jordyn Gaspers (LFL) was the only girl to compete in Laramie, taking a pair of top-10 finishes. In the high jump, Gaspers finished fifth, clearing 4-4. She also took seventh in the triple jump with a 27-6 effort.
“The Goshen County kids had a very solid day,” said coach Mike Lashley. “This was a smaller meet, but some of the performances our athletes posted were very impressive.
“These athletes definitely know how to compete,” he said. “It will be very interesting to see these kids perform in the next few weeks, as they get in better shape and get the opportunity to focus more on their technique work.”
The team’s next action is Saturday at the Kevin Salverson Invitational, hosted by Cheyenne Central.
