ROCK SPRINGS – The trio of Goshen County high school students representing the area at the National High School Finals Rodeo in Rock Springs.
Through Tuesday evening’s performances, Cole Lane was sitting in fifth in the first go-round with a time of 9.26 seconds in tie-down roping. He was second quick in the Tuesday evening performance.
In team roping, twins Bryan and Jared Lemmon are currently in 15th with a time of 7.91 seconds. Their time was the fastest of the Monday morning session by nearly half of a second.
Lane will compete in the second go-round of tie-down roping on Thursday morning, while the Lemmon’s will return to the rodeo arena on Friday evening.
Then the top 20 in each event return for the championship short-go of the NHSFR which is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday.
The NHSFR has an annual membership of approximately 12,500 students from 42 states, five Canadian provinces, and Australia.
