FORT LARAMIE – The annual Lingle Jingle Mingle is back and bigger than ever. Thanks to a larger venue – at the Fort Laramie Community Center – the event will now feature nearly twice as many vendors, along with food, music, Christmas-card writing, and more.
The Lingle Jingle Mingle, now in Fort Laramie, is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 9, from 3 to 7 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 10, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
After the Lingle Legion Hall was condemned earlier this year, Lingle Jingle Mingle organizer Ladonna Gueswel had to look elsewhere for a home for the holiday-shopping hub.
“I’ve got a brand-new group of vendors,” Gueswel said. “Some of my old standbys aren’t able to come – some of the (new vendors) I got acquainted with through the 100th anniversary celebration in Lingle. Last year, we had a maximum of 18 tables, and this year, we have more than 31 tables. We have more space, which means more room for vendors.”
Other new highlights include holiday dining offered by The Gathering Place’s April Simmons, which will be available for purchase both Friday and Saturday, as well as a performance by the Torrington Fiddlers at 10 a.m. Saturday morning.
“One other thing we’re going to do this year … some of the ladies in Fort Laramie thought it would be fun to get together as a group and get their Christmas letters and cards done and mailed and coincide it with the Jingle Mingle,” Gueswel said. “We’re calling this ‘On-time Christmas Cards’, where you can get together, sit down, relax, shop, eat, get your cards done, and somebody from the Pony Express will be there and mail the cards for you with the official Pony Express stamp.”

“We would love for everybody to come check out the Jingle Mingle,” she said. “I’m very excited about everyone that’s showing up.”
