LUSK – The Lingle-Fort Laramie/Southeast wrestling team return to the mats last Saturday in Lusk at the Lusk Quadrangular.
After opening the season with a trio of wins, LFSE went winless in Lusk.
The team lost to Glenrock 36-30, Burns/Pine Bluffs, 48-30 and Niobrara County 48-15.
One of the highlights from the day came in the final dual when LFSE freshman Kaleb Brothwell defeated defending state champion Colton Coffman of Lusk. What made the win even more impressive, Brothwell moved up in weight to accomplish the victory.
For the day, Brothwell went 3-0, joining Grant Logsdon and Jaden Houk, who also picked up three wins on the day. Brock Blevins finished the day 2-0.
Wyatt Sylvester went 2-1, while Remington Bremer, Josie Houk, Ethan Steinhausen and Jessy Valentine scored one win each. Cooper Fauber and Taylor Swartwood went 0-3 on the day.
LFSE Coach Brandon Gifford said the team was shorthanded on Saturday.
“We saw some good things, but still have work to do,” he said.
The LFSE wrestling team will be back in action Thursday, Jan. 7 in Mitchell, Neb.
“It’s a marquee dual that we want to win,” Gifford said.
The dual is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
