MITCHELL, Neb. – The Mitchell Tigers handed the Lingle-Fort Laramie/Southeast wrestling team a 52-30 loss on Friday, Dec. 16.
Mitchell won the final six en route to the 22-point win.
Mason Sorensen opened the dual up with a pin at 126-pounds.
The teams traded wins over the next six matches.
Mitchell picked up a win at 132 pounds, before defending state champion and LFLSE junior Kaleb Brothwell won the 138-pound match.
The Tigers answered with a win a 145-pound bout, but LFLSE sophomore Louden Bremer countered with a forfeit win at 152 pounds.
Mitchell won the 160-pound match before Carter Blevins picked up a fall at 170 pounds. The Tigers were open at 182 to hand Tiegen Thompson a victory, giving LFLSE a 30-17 lead.
The win at 182 pounds proved to be the final points scored by LFLSE on the night.
Mitchell got wins at 195, 220, 285, 106 and 113.
LFLSE went 5-0 in junior varsity matches against Mitchell.
Brayden Posten (126 pounds), Wyatt Gladson (145), Brayden Dykes (152), Connor Curry (195) and Gage Gibson (195) all picked up fall wins.
The team was also scheduled to attend the Hot Springs, South Dakota, but the team didn’t make the trip.
LFLSE is scheduled to be back in action on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 6-7 at the Shane Shatto Memorial Invite in Douglas.
