LFL Lady Doggers split final regular season games

LINGLE – The Lingle-Fort Laramie Lady Doggers had 2A’s top-ranked Pine Bluffs on the ropes on Saturday, but fell at home, 47-37.
After the first frame, the Lady Hornets had a 14-10 advantage, but LFL trimmed that lead to one by halftime, 19-18. The Lady Doggers had the score tied several times in the second half. After the third quarter, LFL was down 30-28, but the Lady Hornets were able to add some separation in the final quarter to snag the win.
Georgia Wollert recorded a double-double on Saturday, with 18 points and 10 rebounds. She led the Lady Doggers in both categories. The senior added three steals to her stat line as well.
Makenna Greenwald was the second leading scorer for LFL, contributing nine points. She chipped in seven rebounds and a team-high four assists against Pine Bluffs. Kaylynn Jefferson, Savannah Mirich and Jade Cooper all had three points in the loss.

Against Pine Bluffs, the Lady Doggers shot 39 percent. They did nail 8-of-15 from the charity stripe.

LFL 48, Burns 22
The Lady Doggers snagged a win on the road against Burns Friday, 48-22, propelled by Greenwald’s 21 points. She shot 9-of-11 from the field and added three points from the free-throw line. Greenwald was second for LFL in rebounding, with eight boards and she led the team with six steals.
Jefferson joined Greenwald in double-figures, with 12 points, with six coming from behind the arc. She nailed all three of her shots from inside the arc and contributed five rebounds, two assists and two steals. Cooper and Wollert combined for 12 points. Wollert led the Lady Doggers in rebounds, with 10, and assists, with four, to go along with five steals.
LFL shot 55 percent from the floor in the win. The Lady Doggers converted 68 percent of their shots from inside the arc, but only 27 percent from behind the arc. Jefferson and Cooper were the only Lady Doggers to knock down a three against the Lady Broncs.
The Lady Doggers finished the regular season 10-10. Their efforts this winter earned them the second seed in the southeast conference. Their first game in the regional tournament comes against Hulett Thursday at 10:30 p.m.
