PINE BLUFFS – The Lingle-Fort Laramie Lady Doggers snagged a 43-32 win over Burns at home Friday before losing to 2A’s top-ranked Pine Bluffs on the road Saturday, 55-24.

LFL 43, Burns 32
The Lady Doggers held a 12-4 lead after the first frame against the Lady Broncs. Burns outscored LFL 14-9 in the second quarter to trim the Lady Doggers’ lead to three points at intermission.
After the break, the third quarter was back and forth, but LFL managed to take a 33-28 lead into the final eight minutes of regulation. The Lady Doggers cruised put up 10 points in the fourth quarter to cruise to a 43-32 win.
“Friday we had a big conference game and Burns always plays us tough but we came out with a win and any SEWAC win is big for us,” coach Matt Cornelius said.

Seniors Makenna Greenwald and Georgia Wollert had double-doubles on Friday. Wollert recorded 11 points and 15 rebounds, while Greenwald accounted for 10 points and 10 boards. The two combined for four assists and 11 steals. Wollert led the Lady Doggers in steals, with six.
“This is a neat team in the fact that you don’t know who will rack up the stats each night,” Cornelius said. “These girls never care who gets the stats at the end of the night.”
Kaylynn Jefferson hit LFL’s only three-pointer of the game. She had nine points on the game to go along with four rebounds and two steals. Savanna Mirich contributed nine points as well. Mirich also had six rebounds and two steals.
As a team, the Lady Doggers shot 46 percent from inside the arc. They were sent to the free-throw line for 36 shots, but they hit only 14 of those attempts.

Pine Bluffs 55, LFL 24
LFL shot just 21 percent from the field against the Lady Hornets on Saturday. But the Lady Doggers did improve on their free-throw shooting, hitting 50 percent from the charity stripe.
“We got better in our transition defense in that game on Saturday so we just need to score the ball a little more,” Cornelius said.
Jefferson was the leading scorer for LFL, with 12 points. All 12 of her points came from behind the arc, on 4-of-11 shooting.
Wollert had a big day on the boards, with 12 rebounds. Greenwald added nine boards against Pine Bluffs. The two combined for eight points and six steals. Greenwald had the only assist for the Lady Doggers on Saturday.
“We are fortunate with our schedule that we are always challenged,” Cornelius said. “We can never dial it back on a night and that helps us get better.”
