CHEYENNE – A legislative update from District 3 Sen. Cheri Steinmetz, Monday, Jan. 14:

For the freshman class of the the Legislature, session officially began with new member training on Friday and Saturday January 4th & 5th. We have been at work ever since! Sunday each party held caucus meetings. On Monday all legislators participated in member training. Tuesday was a busy day for the 65th Wyoming State Legislature as the session officially began on January 8th. The State Senate began work the same afternoon that the new senators took the oath of office. I was honored to have my family travel down and participate in the ceremony as they were seated on the senate floor. Words cannot describe the honor I feel to represent each of you in Senate District 3 nor the weight of the responsibility that comes with the office. I was honored to escort Supreme Court Justice Keith Kautz to the opening ceremony on January 9th along with Representative Simpson. This week we passed three bills out of the Senate:

SF0045 Emergency administration of opiate antagonist-revisions: Labor

SJ0001 State-federal school trust lands exchange: Agriculture

SF0008 Court procedure amendments: Judiciary
