CHEYENNE – Despite four players in double-figures, the Eastern Wyoming College Lancers suffered a road loss Wednesday against Laramie County Community College, falling 93-66.
The Lancers fell behind early in the contest and went into the halftime break down 47-30. In the second half, EWC kept things tighter, but LCCC still outscored the visitors 46-36 to seal the win.
Brandon Meadows was inserted into the starting lineup and paced EWC in scoring with 15 points, including seven from the line where he shot 7-of-10. He was one of two EWC players to record a double-double, finishing the night with 11 rebounds, an assist, a asteal and a block.
Jonathan Morrobel was the second Lancer with a double-double, notching 14 points, 14 rebounds, a steal and a block. Alek Cosic knocked down three three-pointers on his way to 10 points and seven rebounds. Chad Hinrichs came off the bench and kicked in 10 points, three boards and an assist.
Walker Korell added seven points four rebounds, two steals and a team-high six assists, with Trey Schroefel adding three boards, three assists and two steals.
Coming off the bench, Nick Holmes, Daniel Wright and Ty Larson combined for 10 points, five rebounds and five assists.
EWC dropped to 1-22 on the year after the loss to LCCC. The Lancers return to the floor Saturday on the road against Trinidad State Junior College with a 4 p.m. tipoff.
