CHEYENNE – The Eastern Wyoming College Lancer Rodeo team had the unique opportunity of competing in the Cheyenne Frontier Days arena this past weekend at the rodeo hosted by Laramie County Community College.
Sophomore Ellie Anderson, Meeker, Colo., placed second in the first round of breakaway roping with a time of 4.5 seconds. She finished the weekend fifth in the average.
In the barrel racing, sophomore Shay Hough, Gillette placed eighth in the average.
As a team, the Lady Lancers finished third with 70 points. The University of Wyoming won the team title with 475 points, while Colorado State was second with 180.
In the men’s division, Casper College won the event with 850 points. UW was second with 690, and Gillette College was third with 630.
The team will travel to Riverton on Sept. 25-27 to compete in a rodeo hosted by Central Wyoming College.
