CHADRON, Neb. – The Eastern Wyoming College Lancer rodeo team competed in the annual Chadron State College rodeo held Sept. 17-19.
Sophomore Karissa Rayhill, Martin, South Dakota, had strong performances in the barrel racing and the goat tying earning her the reserve all-around title. In the barrel racing, she was fifth in the first round, third in the short round and second in the average. She was second in the first round of goat tying with a time of 7.3 seconds and finished fifth in the average.
In the steer wrestling, freshman Tegun Spring from Wall, South Dakota, was fifth in the first round with a time of 5.8 seconds. He finished fifth in the short round and average, as well. Sophomore Trayton Travnicek was third in the first round with a time of 5.1 seconds.
The women finished fourth with 180 points, while the men were tied for ninth with 40.
The Lancers will travel to Sheridan College rodeo which is scheduled for Sept. 24-26.
