TORRINGTON – The Eastern Wyoming College volleyball team wrapped up the regular season with a sweep of Laramie County Community College on Friday evening.
The Lady Lancers head into the Region IX Tournament riding a three-game winning streak following EWC’s 25-19, 25-13, 25-21 victory.
Sophomore Alyssa George and freshmen Fatima Ramirez and Makenna Reinert paced the Lady Lancer attack with eight. Sophomore Victoria Anderer and freshman Asli Erdi had five apiece.
As a team, EWC tallied 13 serving aces, including five from George and four from freshman Halle Hogan. Sophomore Jelena Jablanov led the team with 18 digs, while sophomore Neza Pec had 11. Anderer led the team with four blocks, while Ramirez had three.
The Lady Lancers (11-12) now turn their attention to the Region IX playoffs which begin Wednesday, Nov. 3 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. EWC will face Lamar Community College (3-30) at 8 a.m. The winner plays Western Nebraska Community College (22-13) at 1 p.m.
