CASPER – The Eastern Wyoming College Lady Lancers fell to Miles Community College in the quarterfinal round of the Region IX Tournament in Casper tonight, 74-53.
The Lady Pioneers jumped out early and by the end of the first, they were up 18-6. EWC upped its scoring in the second, adding 11 to their total, but Miles still held a 30-17 lead at the break. Twenty points in the third quarter by Miles expanded on the lead, putting it at 50-33 with a quarter to go. The Lady Lancers continued to fight back in the fourth, but were unable to reel in the Lady Pioneers, falling 74-53.
The loss ends EWC's season. The Lady Lancers finished the year with a 21-11 mark. The Lady Pioneers advance to take on the winner between Lamar Community College and Casper College.
