LUSK – The Lingle-Fort Laramie volleyball team went 4-0 at the Lusk Invite last Saturday.

The Lady Doggers defeated Upton, Hanna-Elk Mountain, Guernsey and Wright.

LFL opened the day with a 2-1 (25-19, 22-25, 15-11) victory over Upton. It was the third meeting of the season between the teams, and it was the Lady Doggers second win over the Lady Bobcats.

The second set against Upton also proved to be the only set loss of the day for Lingle.

LFL went on to sweep the other three opponents over the course of the day.

The Lady Doggers defeated Hanna-Elk Mountain 25-7, 25-10 and the Guernsey-Sunrise Lady Vikings 25-13, 25-2. To wrap up the day, LFL knocked off Wright 25-18, 25-17.

“The team comradery was excellent. There were girls who got varsity playing time who normally don’t get a lot,” assistant coach Emily Cottrell said in an email. “When we mixed other girls in, the starters cheered, encouraged and supported their teammates. The girls are really coming together as a ‘We versus Me.’ It was a great day to be a Dogger.”

For the day, junior Natalie Speckner led the team with 14 aces and 26 digs. Sophomore Brenly Shipp tallied a team-high 15 kills and nine blocks. Senior Kamryn Rafferty added 11 kills and seven blocks. Junior Leah Foster served up seven aces, dished out 28 assists and recorded seven kills. Senior Ashlee Hattan had 23 digs.

The Lady Doggers travel to Morrill, Nebraska for the annual Morrill Invite. Action begins at 9 a.m.
