Lady Blazers win in Wheatland

WHEATLAND – Caleigh Essert led the way as the Torrington Trailblazer girls golf team took first Friday at the Wheatland meet.
Essert carded an 81, good enough for first place in the girls’ division. Kenna Noble and Kaylee Wilson both shot a 97, putting them in a tie for third. Aubrey Perry (120) and Jade Reinhardt (132) rounded out the Lady Blazers in Wheatland. The Torrington girls combined for a team score of 275.
In boys action, Kash Kaufman took the top spot shooting a 76. Jayce Eaton tied for seventh with a score of 87. Cameron Murphy and Jackson Jones were not far behind, shooting scores of 92 and 95. Caeden Riley rounded out the five for Torrington, shooting a 127.
The action in Wheatland wrapped up Torrington’s golf events for the spring. The Blazer golfers return to action in the fall.
