NEWCASTLE – The Torrington Lady Trailblazers soccer team snapped its five-game losing streak Tuesday with a 4-3 victory on the road against Newcastle.
“We simply capitalized on opportunities we’ve had all year,” coach Travis Rapp said. “We could have scored three or four more if we pull the trigger a little faster.”
Merissa Hitt got the scoring going early for the Lady Blazers with an unassisted goal. Jordan Hunt followed up Hitt’s goal with a goal of her own, with the assist coming from Miranda Aguayo. The third goal came from Shelby Schainost on a free kick. Hitt was not done for the night, as she netted her second and Torrington’s fourth goal on the night.
