DOUGLAS – The Torrington Lady Trailblazers took an early lead over Wheatland in the first round of the consolation bracket and held on for the 50-26 lead to advance to the next round of the tournament.
Torrington opened the game hot and held a 12-6 lead after the first quarter and by halftime the Lady Blazers were up 25-13. Both teams doubled their score in the second half, with Torrington securing the 50-26 win.
With the win, Torrington's hopes for a berth to the state tournament are still alive. Wheatland was eliminated from the tournament. The Lady Blazers return to the floor tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. in Douglas against the loser between Rawlins and Douglas. The winner of tomorrow's game advances to the state tournament, with the loser's season coming to a close.
