RAWLINS – The Torrington High School volleyball team suffered its first loss of the season Friday evening in a 3A Southeast Quadrant matchup.

Rawlins handed the Lady Blazers a 3-0 (25-8, 36-34, 25-17) loss.

“I don’t think we had our heads on straight when we went up there,” coach Chelsi Jackson said. “We didn’t have a good first set. We had a great second set. We didn’t go up there with the right mentality.”

After a slow start in the opening set, scoring only eight points, the Lady Blazers went toe-to-toe with Rawlins in the second set which featured 70 points.

“The girls didn’t give up,” Jackson said.

Rawlins finished the Lady Blazers off in the third set.

“We have to pick it from there, make sure we take every other conference win and prepare for Rawlins again towards the end of the season,” Jackson said.

The Lady Blazers (4-1) hosts Thermopolis (0-4) on Saturday at 2 p.m.
