TORRINGTON – The Torrington High School girls’ soccer team fell to the No. 3-ranked Buffalo Lady Bison 9-0 Saturday afternoon.
Buffalo got on the scoreboard in the fourth minute.
It was the first of four goals in the opening 40 minutes of play.
The Lady Bison added goals in the eighth, 13th and 37th minutes, taking a 4-0 lead into the half.
Buffalo added five more goals in the second half with the first coming in the 45th minute and the final coming in the 75th.
First-year head coach Dave Cummings had no comments following the game as the team is looking forward to a busy weekend stretch.
The Lady Blazers kick off the weekend against Rawlins (1-3 and 0-0) on Thursday at 3 p.m. Torrington will step back out of conference play to face Riverton (2-3 and 1-1 in the 3A West) at home Friday at 3 p.m. and Lander Valley (3-2 and 0-0 in the 3A West) at 1 p.m. Saturday.
