GLENROCK – A late schedule change moved the Torrington High School cross country team from a meet hosted by Cheyenne East to the Glenrock Invitational at the Glenrock Golf Course on Friday.
The Lady Blazers ended the day with a second-place finish in the team standings with 64 points. The point total was one-point shy of Douglas, who won the team title. Tongue River was third with 76.
Senior Sera Glass led the way for the Lady Blazers with a third-place finish in 21 minutes, only a minute off the winning time.
Freshman Ada Merrigan placed ninth in 23 minutes, 43.54 seconds, while junior Tyne Stokes was 12th in 23:53.60. Sophomore Amberly Froerer finished 17th in 25:24.77, and sophomore Kyndra Wiford placed 26th in 28:06.89.
In the boys’ race, sophomore Aydan Loya led the Blazers with a fifth-place finish in 19:05.98. Junior Kyland Fuller placed 10th in 19:45.52. Freshman Myles Wilson finished 13th in 20:00.71. Senior Timothy Randolph placed 36th in 22:58.24.
The Blazers travel to Douglas for the 3A East Conference Cross Country Meet on Thursday.
