BAYARD, Neb. – The Torrington High School cross country teams were back in action on Thursday afternoon in Bayard.
Lady Blazer duo of senior Sera Glass and freshman Ada Merrigan paced the team with top five finishes.
Glass, in her first race of 2020, finished second in 20 minutes, 27 seconds, while Merrigan was fourth in 21:48. Junior Tyne Stokes was ninth in 23:05, while sophomore Amberly Froerer placed 12th in 23:41. Sophomore Kyndra Wiford was 22nd in 25:55, and junior Jazmyne West finished 30th in 29:15.
The Lady Blazers won the team title with 16 points. Bridgeport (Neb.) High School was second with 25.
In the boys’ division, sophomore Aydan Loya led the Blazers with a fifth-place finish in 18:37, while junior Kyland Fuller finished eighth in 19:03. Freshman Myles Wilson placed 13th in 19:50, and senior Timothy Randolph was 20th in 20:59.
The Blazers were second in the team standings with 33 points. Garden County (Neb.) High School won the team title with 17.
The Torrington cross country teams are back in action on Friday, Oct. 9 at Cheyenne East High School.
