BURLINGTON – When the final horn sounded, Lingle-Fort Laramie junior Cordell Forkner was 7 of 9 passing for 87 yards, caught two passes for 53 yards and ran the ball eight times for 26 yards, accounting for seven Dogger touchdowns in a 73-38 win over the Burlington Huskies in the opening round of the 6-Man division playoffs on Friday, Nov. 1.
In all, Forkner rushed for three touchdowns, caught two touchdown passes and threw for two touchdowns.
“Cordell had the best game of his career offensively and defensively. He threw the ball well. He caught the ball, and obviously, ran the ball,” coach Matt Cornelius said. “The things that Cordell did was neat, but also, we had a bunch of kids step up. He wouldn’t have been able to do what he did without the supporting cast.”
