Kosmicki, Wilson win at Douglas

DOUGLAS – The Torrington High School cross country teams traveled to Douglas on Friday, and the Blazers swept the varsity races.

Sophomore Kaycee Kosmicki won the girls’ race, while sophomore Sully Wilson won the boys’ race.

In the girls’ race, Kosmicki won the girls’ race in 22 minutes, 20 seconds, two seconds ahead of second-place finisher Grace Perkins of Tongue River. Cora Taylor finished 11th in 25:26.

In the boys’ race, Wilson and senior Zab Munoz swept the top two spots. It was Wilson’s third consecutive win. He won the race in 18:12, while Munoz was six seconds behind in 18:18. Senior Myles Wilson was fourth in 19:12, while Ty Albaugh was 18th in 20:03. Brody Harrison placed 30th in 25:39.

As a team, the Blazers finished second with 48 points. Douglas won the team title with 46 points.

The Torrington runners are back in action at Casper on Sept. 22.
