FORT LARAMIE – On Sept. 27, a wonderful, gentle and caring man went home to his Lord and Savior. Kimo Knighten, 66, of Fort Laramie was born in Honolulu, Hawaii to Keith and Dorthy (Patapoff) Knighten.
He traveled to many countries, even as a child. He lived a full life, touching many people along the way. In the spring of 1977, he met Theda Slawter and they married in April of 1978.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Theda, his brother, Gilbert Knighten of Seward, Alaska, many nieces, nephews and Godchildren.
A “Celebration of Life” will be held Saturday, Oct. 23, at 1 p.m. at the Fort Laramie Community Church.
