EVANSTON – Former Torrington resident, Kenneth Lee Godfrey, left this world on March 10, 2022, in Evanston where he had been living since 2016.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 16, at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Father Ray Moss officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery. Kenneth was born on March 31, 1944, in San Antonio to Orson Peck Godfrey and his wife, Anne Marie (Moravits) Godfrey. He was the third of four boys. He attended catholic schools throughout his education and graduated from St. Gerard’s high school in San Antonio in 1963. He met Torrington-area girl Karen Snyder through family ties and they were married on December 21, 1968. After a visit to Wyoming in 1969, the couple moved to Torrington the following year when their son, Patrick, was just an infant. Their daughter, Tamsen, arrived a few years later.
Kenneth worked various jobs throughout his life, most notably at Holly Sugar and Pamida. A lifelong Catholic, he was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Torrington. He also volunteered for many years with the Goshen County Sheriff’s Posse.
Preceding him in death are his parents; wife Karen; brother Joseph Godfrey.
He is survived by children Patrick (Jackie) Godfrey and Tamsen Godfrey; granddaughter Sydney Godfrey; his brothers, James (Barbara) Godfrey and Richard (Linda) Godfrey and multiple nieces and nephews.
