John “Jack” Emery

TORRINGTON – John “Jack” E. Emery, 84, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 2021, at Community Hospital in Torrington. Funeral services will be held at a later date for immediate family only. John was born Dec. 15, 1936, in Sunrise to Earl and Bernice (Palmer) Emery. Soon after, they moved to a farm in Arvada, Colo., before moving to California. John graduated high school from Mira Costa High School in Manhattan Beach, Calif. He worked for Southern California Edison for 30 years before he retired. In 2003, he returned to Wyoming and decided to make it his forever home.

John loved to travel and loved being outdoors. He was an avid skier and skied in several different countries. He enjoyed reading and was a collector of many things. He also had a passion for classic cars. 

John is survived by his daughter Allison Emery of Billings, Mont.; son Michael Emery of Torrington; son Jason Emery of Sandpoint, Idaho; son Johnny (Krystal) Emery of Shamrock, Texas; daughter Jamie (Jeff) Keener of Fallbrook, Calif.; son Jerry (Kat) Emery of Sandpoint, Idaho; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and long-time friend and close relative David Stewart of Scotland. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Anne Emery and his brother Eddie Emery.
