TORRINGTON – Jill L. Smith, 64, of Torrington passed away on December 21, 2021 at home with her loving family and friends at her side.
Jill was a caring mother, grandmother, sister, wife, and friend. She was born to Ordean and Louise Voight in Aberdeen, South Dakota. Jill is survived by her four siblings (brother Orie, and sisters Shereen, Jean and Cindy).
She received her master’s degree from Chadron State College so that she could fulfill her passion getting her LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) to help others. During her time as the Director of the Community Mental Health Center she dedicated herself to helping the youth and families in her community.
If her career was her passion, her family was her heart beat. She married Gerald (Craig) Smith in 1976 and was a mother to three children: Haven, Josh, and Jeb. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Grandma to her 5 grandchildren. Jill never turned down an opportunity to spend time and spoil her children, grandchildren and dogs.

Jill never wanted to be the center of attention, so her services will be held for family and personal friends only.
