FORT LARAMIE – Jay Zell Sr., 63, of Fort Laramie, was in Steuben, Ind., when he and his partner Diana Hicks were killed in a semi-truck versus Prius collision on March 22, 2018.
He was preceded in death by his mother Elizabeth Zell and his father Frank Zell. Jay leaves behind three brothers, Frank Zell Jr, Bernie Zell and Chuck Zell; two sisters, Bonny Faber and Mary Litchfield; and one son, Jay Zell Jr.
Jay Zell Sr. was the owner of Zell Heating Cooling and Commercial Refrigeration. He also had a master’s license in HVAC-R. He loved to travel, go camping and visit family.
A memorial will be held in his and Diana’s honor at 2 p.m. Friday, April 6, at the Fort Laramie Community Center in Fort Laramie.
Jay Zell was devoted to serving Jesus Christ, and though he was strong he was also humble and kind. A great man that will be greatly missed.
