LITTLETON, Colo. – Funeral services for Isabel Velasquez, 94, will be 10 a.m. Friday, March 6, 2020, at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel in Torrington with Pastor Paula Holmes officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery.
Isabel Velasquez was born on Nov. 5, 1925, in Vanhouton, N.M., the daughter of Catarino and Amada (Melindez) Larez. Isabel was called to her Eternal home on Feb. 27, 2020. She was at home surrounded by her loving family.
Isabel was blessed with a full life and enjoyed caring for and spending time with the family she created with her husband, Fred Velasquez, which included 10 children and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Isabel was a very simple woman who enjoyed the simple things in life such as cooking, baking and crocheting. She also enjoyed being outdoors, spending time planting flowers and tending to them daily.
Isabel is survived by sons Anthony ( Katie) Velasquez of Denver Colo., Max (Debra ) Velasquez of Littleton, daughters Linda Velasquez of Lakewood Colo., Delphine (Bob) Shoemaker of Lakewood Colo., Sally (Donald) Ring of Englewood Colo., Peggy Saldaña of Green Bay, Wisc., Carol (Scott) Olden of Littleton, and numerous grandchildren, great -grandchildren and great -greatgrandchildren .
