Gordon in lead in governor race

CHEYENNE – With 10 counties reporting, incumbent Senator John Barrasso leads his nearest challengers by an almost three-to-one margin in the U.S. Senate race in Wyoming.

The Secretary of State’s office reports 31,473 votes for Barrasso, outpacing his nearest competition, fellow Republican Dave Dodson with 14,949 votes. On the Democratic side, the lone challenger, Gary Trauner, received 8,554 with nine counties reporting.

In the U.S. House of Representatives race, Republican incumbent Liz Cheney has received 31,785 votes to 10,2512 for Rod Miller and 5,817 for Blake Stanley. For the Democrats, Greg Hunter leads with 4,866 to 3,254 for Travis Helm.

The race for the top office is tighter, with Republican frontrunners Mark Gordon leading with 17,544 over Foster Fries with 12,751. Goshen County native Harriet Hageman is in a strong third place, showing 9,594 votes, trailed by Sam Galeotos with 6,954 and Taylor Haynes with 3,185.

The counties reporting included Carbon, Converse, Fremont, Hot Springs, Laramie, Lincoln, Sublette, Teton, Uinta and Washakie.
