TORRINGTON – Ilene Mae Schloatman, 89, wife of Gordon Schloatman recently of Glen Mills, Penn., went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 7, 2018.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2018, at Bethel Baptist Church with Pastor Daniel Russell officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery. Donations in her honor should be made to Bethel Baptist Church.
The casket will be open at the church prior to the service. Arrangements are by the Colyer Funeral Home and condolences may be sent to www.colyerfuneralhome.com.
Ilene was born April 23, 1929 in Torrington, the daughter of Charles and Anna (Johnston) David. Her love of the Lord and desire to serve others by providing care and comfort in her 26-year career as a Nursing Director at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Ill., and then ending her career as a Director of Nursing at Deerfield Nursing Home, specializing in elder care.
Her time was spent in Bible study and hosting wonderful get-togethers at her home for friends. She loved watching football and playing cards and board games. Her love and core value of family and concern that they know the Lord has made her so cherished by her family.
Ilene was preceded in death by her daughter Sandra Snyder. She is survived by her husband Gordon Schloatman of Glen Mills; her daughter Cynthia Mills of West Chester, Penn., along with son-in-law Don Mills; her grandsons Evan Mills of Memphis, Tenn., and Ryan Mills, wife Stephanie Mills and great-grandson Conner of Bartlett, Tenn.; granddaughter Meg Snyder of West Chester; and great-granddaughter Norah.
